The National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology -INSIVUMEH- of Guatemala reported that the Fuego volcano registers 5 to 11 weak and moderate explosions per hour, generating columns of gas and ash of 4,500 and 4,800 meters above sea level, which are dispersed from 10 to 20 kilometers in a West and South West direction.
The information with the volcanic activity of the last 24 hours was released through the daily volcanological bulletin.
The areas affected with fine ash in Panimaché, Santa Sofía, Sangre de Cristo, Yepocapa and other communities located on the West and Southwest flanks.
In relation to the Santiaguito volcano, incandescence was observed in the dome dome at night and early morning, likewise, the seismic stations continue to register weak explosions, which generate avalanches from the dome dome in all directions.
There are also columns of gas and ash that reach 3,000 meters above sea level. Long-range pyroclastic flows are not ruled out.
