It aims to refresh, rejuvenate, and even deliver a “pleasant product” even in appearance. It tries to green up and renew itself, but despite so much effort, it does not succeed. Cuban television is determined to modernize itself, especially in those programs that touch on the “political” at their convenience.
There are television programs that try to renew themselves, but they only manage to show some discrepancies with the very old and habitual aesthetic presuppositions of national television, that of the State, the only possible one. Among those programs that tirelessly seek the novelty, but not the truth, are “La pupila asombrada”, which at the beginning tried to be called “La pupila insomne”, due to the verse of Martínez Villena, although it did not succeed because in Camagüey it already There was a blog with that name.
And another television program with interests very similar to “The astonished pupil” is “Con Filo”, shorter and perhaps for that reason more hectic than the first…, but, like the other, exhibits identical budgets, the compensation of the damages that they provoke some incontrovertible truths in power, and that the inept government is unable to refute with facts, and even less so the makers of the news. And that is why “Con Filo” and “La pupila asombrada” come out into the arena of the networks, and into the arena of television for those who do not have networks or a cell phone.
And sometimes they make people laugh, they cause hilarious, hilarious things, and some sly laughter, trumpets, mockery that we suppose deserved. Right now I’m looking at a meme that made me crack up. In that meme appears one of those government minions who intends to shake us twice a week with that program that he hosts and that is called “Con Filo.”
He is one of those repugnant beings who has the appearance of a two-tongued child, of the boy who was ridiculed every day by his classmates, and who now charges all of them from the visibility that national and communist television gives him.
His name is Michel Torres Corona, and perhaps it was those towers and crowns that made him so conceited. I do not doubt that some of those close to him believed that Michel would be interested in the workers and in justice, that for that he studied Law; but he hunchbacked, he became a leftist, an extremely leftist, so much so that he didn’t even have to pay for his degree by doing his “social service”. Michel got into cubadebate and there began the “blasphemera” and its blablabla.
Then came his “decadent rise” until he reached “Con Filo”, that television program that I like to call “Con filo llado”. Michel, the one who studied law, to later become a leftist, made a career of enormous ascents without us knowing why. He studied Law, although I don’t know if it was Law, to later not practice the profession for which the State prepared him. And overnight he emerged from the silence, the beard, to achieve great visibility.
And with the consent of a power that, it seems, suggested that he dedicate a perfidious look to an opposition that “Con Filo” observes with the eyes of Zarathustra, wanting to see the world in a space that only exists between the divine and the anti-divine, in a world where a divine revolution is concluded in which its divine leaders guide the divine people who face the evil that is us, the others, the others, the rest, putting power close to “monotheism”, of castrism.
And for that, Michel is there twice a week on the television screen, and on the networks, without the power noticing that we look at him as if the shoes are too tight and the stockings are hot. And it is worse now, when he was the “victim” of a meme in which he appears in heels and with his buttocks exposed, with which machismo and homophobia try to ridicule him.
Michel was ridiculed by Internet users and “male power” did not come out to protect him; And who would dare to doubt that this “macho power”, the homophobic, would also enter the pachanga or promote the pachanga; It would not be the first time that power abandons its faithful when they are no longer useful. And does he deserve it? Does he deserve to be accused of succumbing to heinous sin?
Does he deserve it? Does he deserve that languid pose? Michel will no longer be the same, and the Cuban people, so accustomed to speculation, will not need proof. Cuba continues to be homophobic, even after certain “Family Codes”. Cuba, the one of the UMAPdoes not forgive, and continues to attack with the “heinous sin” in the center, as a strategy.
Michel must be suffering thanks to that meme that came out of the national machanguería, and who would dare to doubt that it is also from the Castroite and the military. Now that Michel is exposed on the networks, and all thanks to the national machanguería. Now it is Michel who is mocked.
Michel is exposed, at the expense of the judgment of others, under gazes that end in endless evaluations, under judgments so similar to those that he himself proposes twice a week, believing that he is sharp and insightful.
All this proves that we are still sexist and homophobic. What does it matter if he is gay, or heterosexual, even “ambidextrous”? And hopefully the rhetoric of one side and the other does not become completely sly, and scathing. And let Michel remember that the authorities could reject him, for being the object of ridicule, because he lost the predicament that he thought he had before. Power is relentless, Michel, and you won’t make a difference.
