Marcelo Ebrard has not managed to adjust the strategy on the war in Ukraine.

Juan Ramón de la Fuente, Marcelo Ebrard and AMLO should be part of a choir. Set the same position and articulate a good communication campaign.
The most complex part is De la Fuente, Permanent Representative to the UN. The messages they send you from Mexico will surprise you, and not necessarily for the better. For example, in President AMLO’s peace proposal presented at the UN, De la Fuente had to eliminate what corresponded to the five-year truce that had neither head nor tail.
AMLO has not explained why he chose the Indian prime minister as the negotiator for his proposal. Narendra Modi has committed actions against ethnic minorities, such as Muslims.
The communication area of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must be strategic. Now, Secretary Ebrard’s networks are more relevant, but two mistakes in his management have left him vulnerable: the selfie at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral and his smile in front of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The criticism in networks focused on the selfie and not on the photo that he took during the meeting with Lavrov. It is clear that the Mexican population is far removed from the war in Ukraine.
By not having a clear and consistent strategy on the part of the AMLO government, diplomacy is misplaced. The new chapter occurred last week during the visit of three Ukrainian deputies to Mexico: Ivan Shynkarenko, Volodymyr Kabachenko and Oleksandr Tkchenko.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not receive the deputies. He did react after Congress President Santiago Creel received them on Thursday. The General Director of Political Coordination of the SRE responded to Professor Beata Wojna on Twitter with a tweet about the alleged willingness to receive them, and it was only up to the deputies to accept.
The reality is different, the agenda of the Ukrainian deputies was known at the SRE before their trip to Mexico. There was no willingness to receive them until hours before the deputies left Mexico.
It is understandable that Ebrard and De la Fuente have to work miracles to translate AMLO’s non-strategy on the war in Ukraine; case management, similar to managing the Covid-19 crisis.
