It will be done through a program that will last until next year. The sale price of the unit will be RD$150
In a program coordinated by the Dominican Poultry Association (ADA), the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Institute for Price Stabilization (unexpected) will start today the sale of 1.5 million chickens of national production, at the price of RD$ 150 per unit.
The program has an investment of over RD$400 million.
The day will cover the 32 provinces of the country and will last until January 6, 2023; while, the local processing plants will make the distribution in refrigerated units, at the points established by the Government.
Recently the ADA guaranteed the consumption of chickens for the festivities of Christmas and New Year, when indicating that the upbringing of the White meat it was in full production on the various farms the nation has. Poultry farmers increased last year’s production by 20 percent, reaching 21 million chickens this December.

The organization also predicts a good production of chickens for the whole year 2023, so it is expected that the Government do not have to import that product from the basic basket.
The directors of the Dominican Association of Poultry Farmers highlighted the importance of chicken, a protein that has become essential in the diet of families in the country. Statistics indicate that each month chicken consumption is around 18 million units.
The sector is responsible for the creation of 26,500 jobs, with an investment of RD$40 billion in direct investment.
In the country there are around 450 chicken producers, who generate some RD$58 billion annually, making the Dominican Republic the largest producing nation in Central America and the Caribbean.
