Santo Domingo.– The Metro Line 2C of Santo Domingo will begin operations this Wednesday with special hours, one day after being inaugurated by the president Luis Abinader.
During the “white start” period, the service will be free until Easter weekas part of the process of gradual integration of users to the new system extension.
The Metropolitan Transportation Company (EMT) reported that the service will operate in two waves.
Monday to Friday
Morning: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Afternoon: 4:00 PM – 8:00 at night.
On Saturdays the schedule will be:
Morning: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Afternoon: 12:00 PM – 4:00 in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, on Sundays and holidays the Metro will operate continuously from 10:00 in the morning to 8:00 at night, this is supposedly because it is a family day.

Free service in initial phase
As explained by the EMET, the free service will only apply during the operational test stage, with the objective of evaluating the flow of passengers and making the necessary adjustments before its regular operation.
The Line 2C It connects kilometer 9 of the Duarte highway with the entrance to the municipality of Los Alcarrizos and is part of the expansion of the mass transportation system in Greater Santo Domingo.
