Children and young people from 5 to 15 years old, who are immunosuppressed patients, may apply the third dose against Covid-19, as long as they have completed 28 days after applying the second dose.
This was announced by the Minister Counselor for Health Eyra Ruiz, reiterating the importance of vaccination to reduce the risk of contracting this virus.
He highlighted that currently 86.5% coverage of the first dose has been achieved in a population of 5 years and older, 76% of the second dose, 45.4% booster dose. And in the pediatric population from 5 to 11 years old, 48%.
Panama adopted a new complete vaccination scheme since last February 20, in people from 5 to 15 years old, it is two doses of the Pfizer vaccine or the vaccines that are authorized for use in these age groups; while for the population aged 16 and over it is 3 doses.
