President Lacalle Pou and Vice President Argimón wrote two separate messages on their official Twitter accounts regarding the celebration of a new International Women’s Day.
The president wrote: “Equal rights for women are enshrined in our Constitution. Putting it in writing is not enough, with which the government seeks to also advance equal opportunities.

For her part, Vice President Beatriz Argimón wrote: “A new #8M that invites us to reflect, to make existing inequities visible and to redouble our commitment to equality. Continuing to work for the economic independence of all women is a priority. Economic independence is freedom”.
