Happy, proud was Mr. Alberto David Osorio, the driver who last March helped several police officers who were attacked when they were escorting a valuables truck in Ocaña, north of Santander.
For his action, the Director General of the National Police, General Henry Sanabria, awarded the courageous 63-year-old man a decoration of “citizen merit” for his virtues and courage.
In the same act, they also recognized the uniformed officers who attended the painful case in which another uniformed officer lost his life.
Don David in the middle of the shooting in Ocaña
David Osorio was the driver of the truck that recorded minute by minute part of the shooting in the middle of a road in Ocaña, Norte de Santander, and that leads to Aguachica, Cesar.
This event occurred last Wednesday, March 15, when the Army and the National Police ended up facing a group of criminals who were allegedly trying to rob a stock car.
However, beyond just recording, he also helped the uniformed police.
He stopped his truck, in the area where the escort of the injured stock car was located and who died hours later, and protected the two policemen who were exposed.
On that road between Ocaña and Aguachica, public order problems have persisted.
