CNN journalist Fernando Del Rincón rebuked the congressman Edward Malaga the conduct of a sector of Congress, which celebrated the vacation of Pedro Castillo and was attributed as the main operator of his removal.
For Del Rincón, Congress was not responsible for the ex-president’s departure, since he considers that it was his very “clumsiness” that led him to be removed from office. For this reason, he stressed that the Legislature should not “hang on the victory.”
“Congress cannot hang on to victory, the clumsiness was Castillo’s. Yes, they have a merit, which was to get him here, but at the same time they have to make a mea culpa. Look how far it went, how far it had to go, at the risk that the Armed Forces would not decide to support you and that they would support Castillo,” said Del Rincón.
It should be noted that, on December 7, Pedro Castillo carried out a self-coup, which caused the majority of congressmen to vote in favor of the vacancy motion against him. After her dismissal, Dina Boluarte assumed the presidency and became the first woman to hold the highest executive position.
