From Qali Warma to the Government Palace. Who is Fredy Hinojosa?

He is the presidential spokesperson and his closeness to Dina Boluarte It dates back a few years now. The currently investigated Fredy Hinojosa is a trusted man of the president. Through her words she tries to justify the actions that the head of state does not want to explain to the press.

The relationship between Fredy Hinojosa and the president dates back to 2021, when Pedro Castillo assumed the presidency and the current president was Minister of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis), already at that time his now spokesperson was the general director of the Qali social program Warma, a position he had been holding since March 2019.

The tax investigation reaches the current Midis minister Julio Demartini and the presidential spokesperson Freddy Hinojosa.

During his management in this program, irregularities were detected in the company Frigoinca, which also managed to grow as a company, as it obtained contracts for the canned food it manufactured to be distributed in national schools. This product remained in Qali Warma for many years until it was revealed that it delivered food in poor condition. Due to these anomalies, the spokesperson is investigated.

But who is Fredy Hinojosa, whose home the prosecutor’s office raided this Tuesday morning? The voice of the president before the press is a lawyer by profession and also an administrator, a graduate of the National University of San Agustín de Arequipa (UNSA) who has held various positions in the public administration, being an official with an important career.

He served as secretary general of the Ministry of Culture, advisor to the Ministry of Labor, and executive director of the National Action Platforms for Social Inclusion Program (PAIS); in the National Food Assistance Program (PRONAA); in the Organization for the Formalization of Informal Property (COFOPRI), and in the Youth Labor Training Program (PROJOVEN).

Last March Hinojosa was appointed head of the Technical Cabinet of the Presidency and two months later, he assumed the position of spokesperson for the presidential office.

Hinojosa was also an APRA activist, a party in which he was affiliated until the star’s group lost its registration after the 2021 presidential elections.
