The Foreign Ministry assured that, since January, the Colombian Embassy in Poland and the Consulate in Warsaw, concurrent in Ukraine, “began the application of all the protocols of assistance, location, characterization and permanent contact with the Colombian community in Ukraine“.

“The Embassy and the Consulate are instructed to provide all the guarantees, so that the nationals, in case of a worsening of the situation and if necessary, can leave there“, it was added.
To date, according to the information, there is a record of 32 Colombians living in Ukrainian territory. Most reside in the capital, Kiev.

Likewise, the National Government reported that it is in permanent contact with the humanitarian organizations in Ukraine to provide adequate accompaniment to the compatriots.
And that “Coordinated work and union of synergies with the embassies, especially of the Ibero-American countries based in Ukraine, are being carried out in order to constantly evaluate the evolution“of the crisis.
Russia and Ukraine have intensified tension between the two for several weeks, amid the Donbas conflict.

In recent days, intelligence services from countries such as United States and United Kingdom They have assured that it is possible that Russia will soon invade Ukraine. This has been denied by the Russian authorities.
