“Cuba warned that the conflict in Ukraine could have been avoided if the United States and NATO had not approached the borders of the Russian Federation and if a military doctrine of an increasingly offensive nature had not been imposed in that alliance,” Lazo Hernández assured before the Russian Senate.
Likewise, the official of the Cuban regime condemned the “unilateral sanctions adopted against the Russian Federation by the governments of the West, in general, and the United States, in particular.”
Lazo Hernández took advantage of the occasion to thank Russia’s support for the island’s regime and called on Russian companies to invest in the largest of the Antilles.
“We consider it essential that Russian companies actively participate in investment projects in Cuba, taking advantage of the possibilities offered by Law No. 118 on foreign investment,” he said.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the island’s regime has shown solidarity with Moscow and criticized kyiv.
