However, controversy arose with the publication of a magazine review Rolling Stone in Spanish, who warned that “The most worrying aspect of ‘+57’ is its lyrics. Voices also joined in on social networks questioning this aspect, and some feminist groups They recalled that “this, in a city like Medellín, with a serious problem of child sexual exploitation.”

In the last year, Medellín has been in the news for cases of sexual tourism with minors who have met, an increasingly palpable reality in that city, capital of the department of Antioquia, which has become attractive to visitors who are after sex and drugs.

According to the Observatory of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Girls, Boys and Adolescents (Escnna) of the NGO Valientes, in 2023 they were reported 329 victims of crimes associated with the sexual exploitation of minors in Medellín.

President Gustavo Petro himself wrote a message on his X account in reference to the controversy, considering that “the cultural debate is fine” and defended that “There is a cultural confrontation between the surface and the depth of the things that youth are waging in their neighborhoods.“.
