The Colombian entertainment world is in mourning following the recent passing of Fabiola Posada, better known as ‘La Gorda’ Fabiola, who with her great sense of humor and charisma left her mark on television, film and theater.
Throughout his career, his participation in the program Sábados Felices was one of the most remembered, where he was between 1987 and 1995, and then from 1998 to 2024, playing various humorous roles that became icons of Colombian comedy.
His talent also stood out on television
One of her first roles was in the series NN (1990-1995), where she played a nun and shared the screen with Germán Escallón, who starred in the series as Nerón Navarrete.
In 1994, she appeared in Las Aventuras de Eutimio as Leonisia, another character that managed to steal smiles in Colombian homes.
Fabiola’s versatility was also evident in telenovelas. In Yo amo a Paquita Gallego (1997-1999), she played Seferina Forero, a character that captivated viewers.
She also participated in Mi Pequeña Mamá (2002) as Marcia, and in Casados con Hijos (2004), one of the most successful adaptations of Colombian television, where she played Sandy Rubio.
In the telenovela genre, her participation in Juegos Prohibidos (2005) as Chela Baute was memorable, consolidating her place as a versatile actress in both comedy and other genres.
In 2008, she ventured into children’s television with the program Familia Cheveroni, where she played Mónica.

In the cinema, ‘Gorda’ Fabiola also left her mark
One of his most memorable roles was in Muertos de Susto (2007), a comedy directed by Dago García and César Betancourt, in which he shared the stage with figures such as Don Jediondo and Alerta.
She later participated in Se nos Armó la Gorda (2015) and its sequel Se nos Armó la Gorda al Doble: Misión Las Vegas (2017), films in which she played her own alter ego ‘La Gorda’, alongside comedians such as her husband Nelson Polanía, Ricardo Quevedo and Francisco Bolívar.
In theater, Posada stood out with works such as Sex with Lies and Videos, Ay Juepucha Where Are the Keys, Until Your Death Do Us Part, Without Buts on the Tongue, and Enhumorados, where her ability to connect with the public established her as one of the most beloved comedians in Colombia.
Among her most recent film appearances are Si Saben Cómo Me Pongo, ¿Para Qué Me Invitan? (2018), Feo pero Sabroso (2019) and the recent No Me Echen Ese Muerto (2023), where she once again made the Colombian public laugh with her unique style.
Fabiola Posada’s legacy is immense, not only for her talent, but for the affection she always inspired in Colombians.
Her passing leaves a void in the entertainment world, but her work will forever be remembered by those who enjoyed her in every facet.
