Since July of last year, The prosecutor’s office began a confidential investigation of Carolina Ribera Áñez, daughter of the former president, Jeanine Áñez, as well as Natalia Ibáñez Vaca, cousin of the Governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, for the crime of alleged legitimization of illicit profits; the researchers recommended requesting reports from 31 state institutions.
“Within the case CUD 201102012205845 followed by the Public Ministry against Carolina Ribera Áñez and Natalia Teresa Ibáñez Vaca, for the alleged commission of the crimes of legitimization of illicit profits”, indicates the first part of the voluminous report that Sub-Lieutenant Franco Soliz Alanoca sent to the prosecutor Carmelo Laura.
Carolina Ribera is the eldest daughter of the former president and He made several trips in which he denounced the irregularities committed against his mother. Likewise, she went to international instances and met with authorities from multilateral organizations. According to the daughter of the former president, it is for this reason that the Prosecutor’s Office investigates her; she challenged her to find any wrongdoing.
“I do what any daughter would do for her mother, defend her until she gets her freedom and a fair trial, which is what corresponds to her. This is a fight against the state apparatus, an abusive state apparatus; against an increasingly consolidated dictatorship and a justice completely hijacked by the MAS, with judges and prosecutors who lend themselves to these abuses. YoInvestigate, I have nothing to hide. They have invented crimes for my mother to kidnap her, ”Ribera challenged through her social networks.
According to the “investigative suggestions” that the police sent to prosecutor Carmelo Laura, reports should be requested: from electricity connections, water and household gaseven bank accounts throughout the financial system.
This document was sent six months ago to the prosecutor, which means that the tax requirements have already been sent to all destinations. The investigation tries to go back to 2017, because they requested reports from Migration since that year, on trips that both Ribera Áñez and Ibáñez Vaca had made.
The document makes two mistakes, They request reports from the AXS company on two occasions and the same happens with Sabsa, the latter is asked to know when and where the two investigated boarded national and international flights. This company no longer exists since December 2021, when the Government abolished Sabsa and created Naabol. In this way there are 31 entities that should send reports to the Prosecutor’s Office.
“They persecute me for defending my mother; This is the new form of torture for Jeanine Áñez, persecuting her daughter, and they are going to do it with all the political prisoners and their families; but they will not silence me and I will continue to denounce all abuses, seeking justice for all the political prisoners in my country. They want to intimidate me and they are not going to succeed, ”launched the eldest daughter of the former president.
Jeanine Áñez, through her Twitter account, also referred to the issue and came out in defense of her daughter, Carolina:
“The political, fiscal and judicial persecution is against me. Their revenge is against me. @LuchoXBolivia @IvanLimaMagne @EvoEsPueblo they are MORE cowardly and few men than ever when persecuting my daughter for defending her mother. I denounce this to the international community! new aberration!”
