“Friends on duty” take the subsidy: of 228 stations, only 6 belong to Petropar

Hoy Paraguay

If approved today in the Chamber of Deputies, the project with half sanction of the Senate, which establishes transitory contingency measures for the commercialization of Diesel, Gasoil Type III and Naphtha 923 Octane in Petropar stations, a rosary of repercussions is foreseen.

Subsidizing the “public” sector could actually be a mere make-up, because although there are 228 stations that operate under the name of Petropar, of the total, only six belong to the State.

“The others are from businessmen, friends on duty, who will benefit from the subsidy to the detriment of other emblems. There will be unfair competition”, warned liberal senator Fernando Silva Facetti, in an interview with radio Uno.

He added that the modification of the market is prohibited by the National Constitution, therefore, what was approved is absolutely illegal.

“That desperation of the Government, of just giving it, just giving it, is dangerous,” said the liberal legislator. He questioned the Executive’s complacency in the face of pressure from certain sectors and considered that tomorrow, anyone will demand a subsidy.

The entrance “Friends on duty” take the subsidy: of 228 stations, only 6 belong to Petropar was first published in diary TODAY.
