Venezuela participated in a videoconference of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations (GADC) in which the situation in Palestine was addressed and urged the international community to intensify pressure to end Israeli aggression.
“We have participated in a videoconference of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations, where the situation in Palestine and the urgent need to intensify international pressure to end the genocide and give voice to the cause of the Palestinian people,” reported the Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, through his account on the social network Instagram.
In September 2024, the GADC reaffirmed its commitment to defending respect for the self-determination of peoples and denounced Israel’s escalation in the Middle East and its serious and repeated violations of international law.
The Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations is made up of Algeria, Belarus, Venezuela, Bolivia, China, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Eritrea, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Mali, Nicaragua, Palestine, Russia, San Vincent and the Grenadines, Syria and Zimbabwe.
