With these words, Jesus gives authority to the teachings of those whom he sends.
Listening to someone sent by the Lord is like listening to himself. That’s why when the
pope, bishops and priests speak to us in the name of Christ, we must,
with docility, listen to their voice and obey with determination, because they are the mediators
chosen by Christ himself to speak on his behalf. Although the Lord can
speak directly into our hearts, he wanted to have men who speak in their
name and we cannot turn a deaf ear to his message. Peace and good.
