The head of the General Directorate of Public Private Partnerships (DGAPP), Sigmund Freund Mena, explained the postponement of the construction of the Ámbar Highway by the Government.
When interviewed on the Mckinney program that is broadcast by Color Visión, he maintained that said work was very expensive and the toll would be high.
“It reached the point where a guaranteed minimum return (shadow toll) or a high toll is required, interest rates have been rising, which makes capital much more expensive. So the president (Abinader) decides to put the project on hold until better financial conditions appear that can make it viable, ”he said.
He considered that a project of this nature requires many studies, analyzes and months of work to establish risk matrices.
In another order, the official stated that the Pedernales tourism project will start at the end of 2023.
