The municipal government announced this Monday (26) that elderly people between 60 and 64 years old who have low income and are included in CadÚnico will be granted free access to municipal buses. The measure takes effect on January 1, 2023 and will be added to the proposed Budget Law that will be sent to the City Council. The proposal to be forwarded must suggest another R$ 100 million in investments in the benefit for this part of the population.
Currently, 150,000 people in the range covered have an active registration in CadÚnico and will be able to use municipal buses for free. The measure is being taken in conjunction with the state government.
This month, the federal government announced that it will allocate R$ 160 million to the capital to help with the cost of transporting the elderly. The prefecture has already sent the requested data to receive the aid. The municipal management awaits the release of the adhesion term in the Platform + Brazil for signature and completion of the official process.
