Personnel from the Public Ministry and the National Police have raided the home of the presidential spokesperson, Fredy Hinojosa, according to RPP.
It was reported that Hinojosa’s lawyer is present in the property located on the 12th floor of a building, located on El Parque Avenue in Pueblo Libre. The operation began at around 4:30 in the morning.
Personnel from the Prosecutor’s Office and police from the Special Response Group for Organized Crime (Grecco) are at the scene.
At 6:40 am the official’s lawyer, Omar Hernández, arrived.
The lawyer confirmed to the aforementioned media that a raid is being carried out.
The intervention is carried out for the Qali Warmi case.
Hinojosa is being investigated for alleged acts of corruption in the tenders that the company Frigoinca won for the Qali Warma program.
MINISTER DEMARTINI IS INVESTIGATED
The Prosecutor of the Nation, Delia Espinoza, told RPP that the investigation is precisely for this case.
“The search procedure is being carried out for Mr. Hinojosa, regarding his involvement in one of the 25 cases that are being developed at the national level regarding Qali Warma. Due to his status as a senior official, as head of this program, he is being investigating,” Espinoza said.
The Minister of Development and Social Inclusion, Julio Demartini, is also being investigated for not ensuring the quality of food purchases: “Due to his status as minister and for omission of functions, given his status as the highest authority of the ministry.”
“The Lord [Demartini] He has also been part of the staff that has always been linked to Qali Warma’s acquisitions. Before, he was director of social programs,” he told the aforementioned media.
And he added: “We are not only talking about defective purchases, but also about poor storage.” “That is why the tax hypotheses are diverse.”
The Punto Final program revealed that Hinojosa was formally notified by the prosecutor’s office as being investigated for the alleged acts of corruption detected in the Qali Warma program, for which the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion announced that changes would be made.
