Freddy Díaz: Plenary votes this Thursday the 12th request to reconsider a vote on the report that proposes to disable it

The plenary session of Congress will vote tomorrow on the request for reconsideration raised by congresswoman Sigrid Bazán regarding the vote on the final report that recommends the disqualification for 10 years from the exercise of the public function of the congressman accused of raping a worker in his office on Parliament premises.

The president of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, specified that he has spoken with the head of the Legislative Branch, José Williams, so that this is the first topic on the agenda of the plenary session scheduled for tomorrow Thursday.

In this context, the Alianza para el Progreso parliamentarian also referred to the vote held last Tuesday in plenary session where only 60 of the 66 votes needed to approve the final report were obtained, which concludes that Díaz did commit a constitutional violation by misusing the facilities of the Congress. And it was there where the worker would have been raped.

In this regard, Lady Camones attributed the decision of some congressmen to abstain from voting on the report to confusion.

Watch the interview with Congresswoman Lady Camones:

“I said it in the plenary session, it is not requested to disqualify him for an alleged violation, which will be seen in the field of the Public Ministry, but for the incorrect use of the office; This was made known to the parliamentarians and it was even stated that if anyone considered that the 10-year proposal was too high, they could request a reduction, but it was not done. They (the congressmen) cannot claim that they were unaware of this issue. I think many colleagues are confusing the incorrect use of the office with rape, which will be determined by the Public Ministry, ”he clarified.
