Freddy Bernal accuses Laidy Gómez of alleged defamation

In response to the latest statements by Laidy Gómez, in which he said that the governor should take his word for his connection with the national government to solve the problems of the Tachirenses, Bernal responded that he does and even listed a series of public works that will execute, and is executing, thanks to the resources received from the central axis


The governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, warned former governor Laidy Gómez that in the future she could go to court to denounce her for alleged defamation, “when she exercised the regional public administration she called me a coffee smuggler.”

The statements were made on his radio program in which he reiterated that Gómez allegedly defamed him and warned that “whenever he deems it convenient” he will take this complaint to court.

He explained that he will attend protected in his role as a common citizen, exercising his constitutional right to defense, “like any Venezuelan,” and clarified that said action would be far from having any political overtones.

He pointed out that a large amount of heavy machinery has been repaired, which is being used to mitigate the risk of damage caused by the recent rains in the entity.

Likewise, he indicated that he began work to recover the asphalt layer in the section from the El Diamante service station, to the El Viajero bakery, on the San Cristóbal – La Fría highway. “He sees that a governor who has contact with President Nicolás Maduro is useful to the state of Táchira, he sees that he is useful to him. Let go of the frustration,” he stated.

Regarding the damage caused by the rains, the regional executive maintained that the state of alarm has not yet been reached, although it has been alert.
