Davivienda assured that the most reliable method to verify a transaction is in the application itself and thus avoid being a victim of scam
Colombian News.
A new type of scam was exposed, after a merchant in Bogotá denounced that he was a victim through virtual payments.
Everything starts with a virtual application that pretends to be from Daviplata, with characteristics similar to the official one.
They point out that even the fraudulent App generates transactions that supposedly reach the victim’s cell phone via text message.
“When we are doing the transaction they show me screenshots of the approved transaction; I verify, there is a code that also appears there, so for security we always capture it to verify,” the merchant told Caracol Noticias.
He says that he receives a text message notification that says that his account was charged with 90,000 pesos from the sale.
“However, I went to verify, I entered the Daviplata application and it did not arrive. I thought that since it was the weekend, it might take a little while to get to the platform, ”he said.
confirmation message
The supposed confirmation message sent by the thieves comes from a 10-digit cell phone.
They recalled that officially virtual wallet messages are made from a 5-digit number.
“Doubt when they make a transfer and it is delayed. Normally, we are choosing not to release the product until it reaches our bill, “he said.
Davivienda’s response
Meanwhile, Davivienda assured, through a statement, that the most reliable method to verify a transaction is in the Daviplata application itself.
They expressed that from this App, the seller can validate the balance and the movements of the transaction and thus avoid being a victim of fraud.
