Francisco Jose Mejia Sendoya submitted his letter resignation to Presidency of the Agrarian Bank.

The executive thanked the President of the Republic, Iván Duque, for the trust placed in him and for “having allowed me to serve Colombia.”
“We left behind a powerful bank as an instrument of social and profitable change as an asset of the state“Mejía commented on Twitter, along with his resignation letter.
In the letter, the manager said that, during the Duque government, “we made the expansion of development credit in history with 17.1 billion pesos, disbursed throughout this presidential period and with a cutoff date of June 2022“.
“Of that total, 13.3 billion pesos corresponded to small and medium producersMejia added.

He said that, during the toughest years of the covid-19 pandemic, 2020 and 2021, increased capabilities in urban settings with the most affected sectors of the economy, managing to serve more than 45,000 clients with emergency loans.
“We also improved the bank’s efficiency and profitability with a smart and zero-corruption-tolerant austerity policy that permanently removed $65 billion from the bank’s expense base in 2019,” he said.
Mejía reiterated his gratitude to Duque and asserted that the current government is leaving the country a development bank that constitutes a powerful instrument of social transformation.

“I am proud to have belonged to his government and to have accompanied him in his political deed,” he concluded.
Mejía will be in the presidency of Banco Agrario until August 1, 2022.
