AZUA.-Francisco Javier García, presidential applicant for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD)affirmed that the current government of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) “He has specialized in opening works that is not over.”
The political leader expressed in these terms when questioned by journalists about the state of the Azua dam.
“What happens with this government is that it opens works that has not concluded. When a dam is inaugurated, it must be done with its irrigation channels, the terminations and everything related to its operation. From here we call the Government to conclude the works of the Azua dam, in order to take advantage of all the investment made and that the work fulfills its objective of providing water to the agricultural areas, ”he said.
During a busy-concentration with representatives of the Azua agricultural sector, Francisco Javier promised to restore all the programs promoted by the PLD government for the benefit of the field.

“We deeply regret the crisis in which the agricultural sector is found due to the wrong policies of the PRM, that has completely abandoned the Dominican field. Therefore, today we commit ourselves, in front of you, that since we assume the government in 2028, we will restore all the programs that successfully implemented the PLD ”, He emphasized.
After hearing the concerns of the munícipes, the political leader said that, despite the promises of change, what the people have received is abandonment, crisis and insecurity.
During an extensive tour of the province of Azua, Francisco Javier visited the municipalities of Las Charcas, Las Yayas de Viajama, Padre Las Casas, Peralta, Sabana Yegua, Pueblo Viejo, Tábara Above, Guayabal and Estebanía. In each town, citizens expressed concern about the lack of support to the agricultural sector, despite having fertile land, which has forced many to migrate to other cities in search of opportunities.
Francisco Javier urged the Azuanos not to lose hope and stand firm, ensuring that from 2028 they will witness the progress and true change that Azua needs.
“Azua It is a noble town, of good land, of working and entrepreneurial people, of brave men and women to whom the Dominican Republic must be eternally grateful. Let’s not forget that in the battle of Azua, on March 19, the first great fight in defense of our national sovereignty was fought, ”he concluded.
