During the 20th century, The United States, the largest devourer of fossil fuels in the history of humanity, produced 181 billion barrels of crude oil and, in the first 25 years of this century, 75 billion barrels – most of it in territories taken from Mexico in 1848. It currently has proven reserves of almost 47 billion, so if we consider the annual extraction rate that it has sustained in the past eight years, more than 4 billion barrels of crude oil, it would only have availability for 11 years.
Venezuela, on the contrary, with 303 billion barrels of crude oil reserves and an annual production of 336 million, has availability for 902 years!
Seizing and plundering Venezuela’s exceptional oil wealth is the central objective of Donald Trump’s government; It is not contributing to democracy or fighting drug trafficking. The logic of plunder was the main motive of the empire for more than seven decades in the 20th century. It was with the triumph of Hugo Chávez, in 1998, that the Venezuelan people put a stop to the abusive interference of the United States governments in the colonial and corrupt management of their oil.
Double, as Attorney General Pamela Bondi expressed, the amount of the reckless and arrogant “reward” to 50 million dollars of the 25 that Joe Biden offered, to provide information that leads to the arrest and/or conviction of constitutional president Nicolás Maduro and offer 25 and 15 million dollars, by Diosdado Cabello Rondón, Minister of the Interior and Justice, and by Vladimir Padrino López, Minister of Popular Power for the Defense of Venezuela, its purpose is to cover up the order to the Pentagon and its mercenaries to assassinate and harass them, betting on betrayal under the spell of greed for money. We are facing a situation similar to or even worse conditions than those ordered for Saddam Hussein in Iraq and Muammar Gaddafi in Libya, as already noted with the sending of warships, spy planes and a submarine to a region of the Caribbean near the coast of Venezuela.
Today, as in 2020, the Trump government accuses constitutional President Nicolás Maduro and his cabinet ministers of leading an alleged group of narcoterroriststhe cartel The Sunsdedicated to trafficking drugs to the United States, a country that has positioned itself as the largest drug market in the world and where all its governments, Democrats and Republicans, have also been exposed for their inability or disinterest in dismantling it; Furthermore, some organizations such as the DEA and the army have been held responsible for having colluded with the mafias. The most surprising thing is that, despite hosting the largest drug market in the world, to this day there is not a single piece of information with the names of the main bosses and operators of money laundering through the banking and financial network of the United States. On the contrary, they do find and disseminate information with the intention of justifying their interference in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia and Brazil.
The dismantling of various acts of sabotage in Caracas and other provinces of Venezuela, seizing high explosives, warns of the aggressive offensive launched to provoke an environment of violence that generates discontent against the government of Nicolás Maduro. In addition, the empire plans to establish itself militarily in Essequibo, taking advantage of the weakness and submission of the Guyana government, use Chevron to obtain espionage information on Venezuelan personnel and oil facilities, and continue providing money to criminal groups for new acts of sabotage.
The exacerbated violence in Trump’s plans towards Venezuela, as well as the support and submission of all the governments of Europe, is caused by the constant deterioration of the oil power of the United States and the extraordinary vulnerability in which its allies find themselves by depending, with the exception of England and Norway, on imported oil. The United States, for example, to maintain its current daily production of 13 million barrels of oil, needs the market price to not fall below $50 due to the costs of the fracking.
In the face of the attempted imperial offensive conducted amidst traps and deceptions, it is important to debate concrete actions to go beyond declarations of solidarity that only remain on paper and provoke disdain or laughter from those who relentlessly plot aggression from their war bunkers. For example, it is necessary to put Venezuela on the BRICS+ table, which will strengthen Brazil and contribute to breaking the trade blockade imposed by the United States.
Nicolás Maduro, elected by the majority of the people who voted in 2024, is the constitutional president of Venezuela. In a spirit of energetic self-defense, let us assume in the face of imperial arrogance that any attempt to attack his physical integrity or that of the members of his cabinet will be, as Gustavo Petro, constitutional president of Colombia, warned, an attack on the integrity of the Latin American peoples.
Let us defend the Bolivarian revolution against Trump’s desire to strip them of their oil wealth and the freedom to decide their own path with sovereignty.
