In accordance with article 252 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, deputy Francisco Ameliach was appointed as representative of the National Assembly (AN) before the Council of State.
The appointment took place during the first ordinary session of 2026 of Parliament. The decision was approved by a qualified majority, in strict accordance with article 130 of the Internal Regulations and Debates of the National Assembly (Ridan).
“Deputy Francisco Ameliach Orta is designated as representative of the National Assembly before the Council of State, complying with what is enshrined in the Constitution and the Regulations of this Parliament,” announced the president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez.
Roles and responsibilities
With this appointment, Ameliach repeats his duties within the advisory body. Its main responsibility will be to act as an institutional liaison, informing and coordinating actions between the Council of State and Parliament.
Furthermore, the deputy must account for his or her management before the plenary session and work together with the Board of Directors to ensure compliance with the legislative and administrative functions of the National Legislative Branch.
