Francisco Ameliach appointed as representative of the AN before the Council of State

During the ordinary session of the National Assembly (AN), the president of the Legislative Branch, Jorge Rodríguez, announced the assignment of deputy Francisco Ameliach Orta as representative of the AN before the Council of State for the period 2025-2026.

This decision was approved by a qualified majority, in accordance with article 252 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and article 130 of the Internal and Debating Regulations.

Deputy Rodríguez urged the deputies to send the allocation to the secretariat for approval by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, for the period 2025-2031.

The proposal was presented by deputy José Vielma Mora, who highlighted Ameliach’s career as a defender of Venezuelan sovereignty, former minister of the Presidential Secretariat and former governor of the state of Carabobo.

During the session, deputy Vielma Mora stressed the importance of this assignment and Ameliach’s commitment to the defense of national sovereignty: “His work as a professor, historian and author of several books. With this designation, the National Assembly reaffirms its commitment to the representation and defense of the interests of the Venezuelan people in the Council of State, trusting in the experience and dedication of Francisco Ameliach Orta to fulfill this important responsibility.”

Francisco José Ameliach Orta, born in Valencia on June 14, 1963, is a Venezuelan politician and military man. He was governor of the state of Carabobo between 2013 and 2017, and is currently an elected deputy to the National Assembly. In addition, he has been a member of the National Constituent Assembly in 1999 and 2017.
