The franchise sector obtained, in the third quarter of this year, revenue of R$70.2 billion, with revenue 12.9% higher than the period of July, August and September 2023. The data, released this Tuesday (3) , are from the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF).
Revenue grew in all 12 segments surveyed by the association, with emphasis on entertainment and leisure (an increase of 15.3%); food and food service (14%) and cleaning and conservation (13%).
“The improvement in economic indicators, such as the rise in the consumer confidence index, employment and record wage bill and the slowdown in inflation [medida pela Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)] contributed to the franchise system recording a 12.1% growth in revenue in the third quarter compared to the same period last year”, highlighted the ABF, in a note.
Over the last 12 months, the sector’s growth was 14.4%, rising from R$231.5 billion to R$264.8 billion.
The ABF survey had a sampling base with 400 interviewed chains, which represent approximately 40% of revenue and 31% of franchise operations.
