Santo Domingo.- The Fuerza del Pueblo Party (FP) assured that the purchase of opposition mayors and other elected officials demonstrate the desperation of the Governmentthe Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and President Luis Abinader, given the resounding drop in the preference of the electorate shown in the polls.
The political delegate of the organization before the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Manuel Crespo, indicated that the official party is resorting to this unfair and bad practice, because all the surveys carried out by business groups in the last three or four months reflect the fall and discontent of the population against the authorities.
“There is no human way that they can stop that plummet that the polls are reflecting as a trend in the last three or four months throughout the country. What they have to do is prepare their bags, because they are leaving in the elections next year, ”said Manuel Crespo in a note from his political office.

The also member of the Political Directorate of the FP affirmed that these surveys also show a constant growth in the sympathy and the intention of the vote of the Dominicans of the different social strata in favor of former president Leonel Fernández.
“That is what makes officials and President Luís Abinader himself desperate, who are going around in a crazy way buying mayors, councilors and deputies with the resources of the national budget and public institutions. They have a team of officials assigned for those purposes, ”he pointed out.
The complaint of the FP before the JCE
Manuel Crespo recalled that a year ago the organization led by former President Leonel Fernández filed a request with the Central Electoral Board (JCE), requesting the creation of a special commission to investigate the complaint about the co-optation of opposition mayors that Party leaders would be carrying out Revolucionario Moderno (PRM) and government officials through a program, as denounced at that time by various sectors.
The Political Delegate of the FP took the opportunity to reiterate to the members of the electoral body to investigate this complaint, in order to clear up all kinds of anomalies that could affect the transparency of the presidential and congressional elections of the year 2023.
“The Central Electoral Board must ensure the integrity of the electoral process, therefore it must act to stop any action that may imply the use of public resources to co-opt elected authorities from opposition parties,” he said.
Manuel Crespo recalls that the organization led by former President Leonel Fernández is committed to strengthening democracy and the political party system, which must be guaranteed by the transparent work of the electoral body with the organization of electoral processes free of questioning.
