This is the fishing company Austral Group, which has been carrying out actions aligned with the fight against climate change and caring for the sea. The firm presented its annual report on measuring greenhouse gases (GHG) and mitigation actions that show the reduction of emissions, carried out by the international certification company SGS.

The main action of the fishing company was aimed at reducing GHG with its project to change the energy matrix to natural gas, which began in 2013 at its Pisco plant, and then continued in 2016 and 2018 at the Chancay and Coishco plants. respectively; which represented an investment of US$4.7 million.

This project to change the fishery’s energy matrix at its Coishco plant represents an estimated emissions savings of 12,967 TCO2eq, accumulated between 2019 and 2023.

This distinction allows mapping all environmental management of companies and identifies opportunities for improvement in efficiency and innovation. Likewise, reporting on Mnam’s Peru Carbon Footprint Platform is not only an act of transparency towards the companies’ interest groups; but also contributes to the country’s commitment to reducing emissions.
