The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), Ursula Desilú León, reported that they will boost four projects Tourist which will require investment of more than S/2,400 million.
These works are intended to enhance the country’s offer and strengthen international competitiveness. In this way, infrastructure conditions will be improved to attract more visitors.
Among those projects is the Choquequirao cable car. This is an initiative that aims to improve the provision of public tourist services in the Choquequirao archaeological monument. It is estimated that the good pro would be given in the first quarter of 2026.
Another work mentioned by the official is Arequipa Tourism – Valle del Colca that would require approximately S/331 million, and that contemplates the implementation of multisectoral initiatives.
The Playas del Norte Initiative and the northeastern tourist corridor are also part of the Projects Group, considered strategic to boost the flow of national and foreign visitors.
In parallel, he informed that they work in improving air connectivity, with the recovery of international flights and interregional routes. Therefore, he highlighted the next reopening of Jaén airport.
