Four startups were awarded for their innovative proposals for emerging jobs

The Desafío WorkerTech Argentina project has as protagonists the Civic House organization and the innovation laboratory of the IDB / Photo archive.

A startup that proposed to develop a risk engine for people who work in delivery companies, another that devised an insurance application aimed at digital platforms, a third that offers financial services developments and one that offers tax assistance were the winners of a call carried out by a non-profit organization together with IDB Lab, the innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank.

“The main objective is to contribute to the advancement of public policies that support the development of initiatives linked to improvements in emerging jobs through technological solutions,” said the organizers of the call.

In this way, the prize called Challenge WorkerTech Argentinaconsisting of a support of US$ 80,000, will be distributed among four startups that develop “innovative ideas that provide solutions to emerging jobs on digital platforms,” ​​the initiative reported.

“We are very happy to be able to make this announcement that shows the incredible development of the entrepreneurial technological ecosystem in Argentina,” said Gastón Wright, director of the WorkerTech initiative in Argentina, in a statement released this Friday.

In this framework, he highlighted the importance of providing support for “innovative ideas with a view to improving emerging jobs on digital platforms,” ​​and anticipated that “Other contests with these characteristics will be held in 2023.”

The WorkerTech Argentina Challenge project has the Civic House organization and the IDB innovation laboratory as protagonists.

As reported, the winners of this contest emerged after a project reception period that lasted from August 8 to September 16 last.

The call -of an open nature- was aimed at “startups that could pilot ‘workertech’ solutions with a focus on improving the income and well-being of people who work through digital platforms.”

After a selection process carried out by a jury of specialists, four companies were the winners, as detailed today: the startup uilswith the development of a risk engine for delivery people; I cover myselfwith an ‘on demand’ insurance APP with digital platforms; liquid, with financial services; Y acontwhich proposed a digital solution for tax assistance.
