Four policemen are sent to jail for depriving a man of liberty

Prosecutor Alberto Zeballos indicated that the four uniformed men, dependent on the Highway Police, detained William RZ at the Abaroa Post control checkpoint, of Yapacaní, because they accused him of having controlled substances.

According to the complaint received by the Specialized Anticorruption Unit of the Public Ministry, the man was in the hands of the uniformed men on Saturday, from 9:00 to 23:30, approximately, and in exchange for his freedom, they asked him for 5,000 dollars, a fact that the victim informed his wife and she mobilized to file the complaint.

Zeballos said that, after the complaint by William RZ’s wife, anti-narcotics agents carried out an operation and rescued the man, and finding no controlled substances in his power or in the environment where he was held, proceeded to release him and arrest four policemen, all with the rank of sergeant.

For his part, the director of the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcn) Julio César Cossío, agreed with prosecutor Zeballos when ensure that no drug was found during the intervention in the prisonn of Yapacaní, reason why the apprehension of the four denounced policemen was determined.

The representative of the Public Ministry pointed out that in the precautionary hearing victim did not show upbut confirmed that there are sufficient elements to presume the guilt of the officials involved, which is why the judge ordered their detention in the Palmasola prison for a period of 120 days.

They denounce drug flipping

In another similar case, the departmental prosecutor Róger Mariaca reported that an investigation had been opened into the complaint that exists against some members of the Felcnwho are accused of appropriating 40 kilos of cocaine, of the 100 that were seized in an operation carried out in the municipality of Montero on September 20.

According to the complaint of the lawyer Fructuoso Céspedes, the troops seized 400 thousand dollars in order to release those involved in this case.

However, the Felcn issued a statement in which he rejects the accusations against the police that carried out the operation in Montero and indicates that the investigations in this case were carried out under the functional direction of the Public Ministry.
