At least four people died and another 30 were seriously injured, after the collapse of a grandstand in a bullring during a bullfight in the Colombian municipality of El Espinal, in the department of Tolima, in Colombia.
While the exhibition with the bulls was taking place, five boxes of a grandstand collapsed, in what is observed as a flimsy structure of wood and tubes. In addition to the injured who fell with the structure, it also caused the stampede of those who were on the ground.

“Four people are dead at this time. Two women, an adult man and a minor,” she told BluRadio José Ricardo Orozco, governor of the department of Tolima, where El Espinal is located.
“We are aware of how many people are under the rubble, we do not know how many. As can be seen in the videos, almost the entire wing was full of people and it collapsed,” Major Luis Fernando Vélez, director of Tolima’s civil defense, told the same station.
The accident occurred during the holiday weekend in which the San Pedro festivities are celebrated, the most popular in the region.

The security and relief agencies are helping the victims and it is estimated that more than 100 people were seriously injured.
The elected president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro expressed through his Twitter account that this type of incident had already occurred in Sincelejo, for which he asked the mayors not to authorize more shows that involve the death of people or animals.
