A four-month-old girl is missing, after the panga in which she was traveling with her mother overturned, in the Caño Chiquito River, in the department of Nueva Guinea.
The incident occurred on the morning of this Friday, June 16, on the way from Port-au-Prince to a community on the South Caribbean Coast.
The mother of the minor, according to government media, could not hold the baby, who ended up being dragged by the currents of the flow. With the little girl another minor was shipwrecked and found alive.

When they had set sail for an hour, the boat was located over the community known as Arranca Frijoles. It hit some logs, which caused the panga to overturn.
The municipal authorities of that department confirmed the fact. They still do not provide data on how many people were traveling on the boat, but they announced that they are in search of the minor. The brigades are made up of members of the Police and officials from other institutions.
