The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection explained that the four subjects were arrested in the middle of Christmas, in possession of long firearms, chargers, cartridges, a machine gun and five vehicles.
Following up on intelligence and investigation work to identify and arrest generators of violence in the entity, agents identified armed people in the La Campiña neighborhood of Culiacán.
“To prevent them from harming the population, they approached them to carry out a security inspection. As a result, four long firearms, a machine gun, a grenade launcher attachment, as well as four trucks and a car were seized,” the agency noted.
The detainees were identified as Gabriel Alberto Ramos Beltrán, 29 years old; Luis Ezequiel Rubio Rodríguez, 28 years old; Juan Carlos Dorantes Meza, 24 years old; and José David Saavedra Beltrán, 20 years old.
They were placed at the disposal of the agent of the Federal Public Ministry, who will define their legal situation and integrate the investigation folder of the case.
“After carrying out the corresponding investigations, it was learned that the detainees are linked to a criminal group that generates violence in the state. The Security Cabinet reiterates its commitment to work in a permanent and coordinated manner to identify and arrest the generators of violence that cause harm to citizens in the country,” added the SSPC.
