After the retirement of Raúl Carbonó, three men and one woman remain in the race to occupy the position for the remainder of the constitutional period.
At the close of the period for modifying lists of candidates for the Government of Magdalena for the atypical elections that will be held this November 23, the National Registry of Civil Status announced that the final list was made up of four candidatesafter Raúl Carbonó withdrew his candidacy.
On the card will appear Rafael Emilio Noya Garcíasupported by the ‘En el Magdalena Cabemos Todos’ coalition, made up of the significant group of citizens of the same name along with the parties Colombia Renaciente, Cambio Radical and Alianza Social Independiente.
María Margarita Guerra Zúñiga, nominated by the ‘Fuerza Ciudadana’ coalition, made up of the Colombian Ecologist and Comunes parties; Miguel Ignacio Martínez Olano, endorsed by the ‘Alma’ coalition, made up of the parties Alianza Democratica Broad, Colombia Justa Libres and the League of Anti-Corruption Rulers and Luis Augusto Santana Galethfrom the Dignity and Commitment party.

According to the Registry, The closing of this period gives way to the printing stage of electoral cards, logistical preparation and deployment of material to guarantee the normal development of the democratic day.
The atypical elections in Magdalena were called after the annulment of the election of Rafael Martínez by decision of the Council of State, which found him responsible for double militancy. Since then, the department has remained under the command of Ingris Padilla, and citizens are preparing to go to the polls again with the expectation of defining the political and administrative course of the region.
