The Authority for Consumer Protection and Defense of Competition (Acodeco) in the province of Bocas del Toro carried out an operation to verify compliance with decree number 13 that establishes price control in 18 products and decree number 16 that establishes the margin marketing gross and once again they have found irregularities specifically in the district of Chiriquí Grande.
Elevar Gómez, director of Acodeco in Bocas del Toro, said that these operations will continue to ensure that businesses are complying.
In the operation, 18 businesses were inspected, of which 4 were fined for violations of the price control standard.
In total, the four economic agents who failed to comply with decree number 13 of July 13, 2022 were sanctioned with 1,375 balboas.
Gómez assured that during these operations they detected 10 products without a visible price, 4 in poor condition and 44 that had already expired.
He added that since decree 13 was implemented, 15 economic agents have been sanctioned with fines reaching 5,500 balboas.
