“The GP São Paulo Formula 1 has a natural highlight in the strategy of attracting audiences from the interior of São Paulo, other states and abroad. This is a loyal tourist, who consumes the city’s products and services, democratically boosting various economic sectors and, as a consequence, with a positive social impact through the generation and maintenance of jobs”, highlighted the president of SPTuris, Gustavo Pires .

For this year’s race, the city invested R$37 million in renovations, such as the complete resurfacing of the Interlagos Racetrack asphalt and other infrastructure works. The new Hospitality Center is also under construction, a 22,000 square meter space that will provide a privileged view of the racetrack’s core and the racing stages. shows.

Audience profile

Research by the Tourism and Events Observatory (OTE), from SPTuris, with support from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), carried out at the São Paulo GP in 2023, showed that Argentines form the majority of the foreign public who visited the race track during the last Formula 1 race, followed by the Chileans, Colombians and Uruguayans.

Afterwards, those who were most present were the Peruvians, Swiss, Paraguayans, Bolivians and the Americans. In total, foreigners occupied, in 2023, 12.2% of the seats at the race track.

Among Brazilians, the majority of the audience at the race track were from São Paulo (62.8%), followed by Minas Gerais (8.3%), Paraná (7.2%), Santa Catarina (5%) and Gauchos (3.6%). %). Tourists from Rio de Janeiro accounted for 3% of the public in the stands.
