Some 65 calves were struck this Saturday by lightning at the Las Cañitas ranch, in the southern part of Formosa, within the framework of the strong storms that affect that provincepolice sources reported.
The animals were of different coats and weighed about 200 kilos each, the informants added.
The spokespersons stressed that they received the complaint after 3:00 p.m., so staff from the Rural Affairs section of Colonia El Alba, about 120 kilometers south of the capital, confirmed the death of the fattening animals that were inside a corral .
“The number of deceased heads was corroborated by personnel from this section, for legal purposes before the Senasa office,” police sources reported.
