Santo Domingo.- Former United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Robin Bernstein, and members of Gepiano Podcast, held a meeting with young professionals in which they discussed bilateral and trade relations, the US electoral contest, as well as the progress and challenges of the Dominican Republic.
During the meeting, held within the framework of Bernstein’s visit to the country to participate in the swearing-in of President Luis Abinader for the second term, the participants had the opportunity to express their opinions on regional security, trade and investment, as well as the role that the United States has played and will continue to play in the development of the Dominican Republic.
The Republican diplomat stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries to strengthen the political, economic and cultural ties that have united both countries over the years. In addition, she took the opportunity to share with her husband Richard some of her personal experiences during her stay in the Dominican Republic, highlighting the culture and hospitality of the Dominicans and assuring that “this is a wonderful country that truly has it all.”
Giulio Pelliccione, Iván Alcántara and Frank Olivares, hosts of Gepiano Podcast, highlighted Bernstein’s important work when she served as head of the US diplomatic mission in the country during the government of former president and current presidential candidate Donald Trump (2016-2020).
