Santo Domingo-. Former PLD senator for the Hermanas Mirabal province, Luis René Canaán, announced his resignation this Monday “irrevocably” as a member of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).
René Canaán was a member of the Central Committee of the PLD and director of strategy for the presidential candidate in salcedo.
The resignation was announced through a letter sent to the president of the purple party and former president of the Republic, Danilo Medina, where he stressed that democracy and participation have been invalidated in that party in recent years, which, in his opinion , “has directly affected local leadership, regardless of the consequence.”
“After greeting you, very courteously, please inform you that after more than 30 years belonging to this political organization, with great regret and after deep reflection, I have made the firm and irrevocable decision to resign as a member. of the central committee, director of strategy of the presidential candidate of the province Hermanas Mirabal and as a member of the party”, Canaán began the letter.
