The former regional president of Arequipa Juan Manuel Guillén Benavides He was sentenced to a three-year suspended sentence for the case of the construction of the Chilina bridge. This Tuesday, Judge Edy Leva Cascaymata of the Unipersonal Court for Cases of Corruption of Officials of the Superior Court of Justice of Arequipa issued his ruling in advance.
In the same, the magistrate found Guillén Benavides guilty as an accomplice in the crime of incompatible negotiation when he was regional president. The current laws were violated to sign contracts for works and services that allow the execution of the Chilena bridge between the years 2012 to 2014. The damage to the Peruvian State was 11 million soles.
Being a sentence of three years, Guillén Benavides will not be held in a prison facility.

Judge Leva acquitted Sarah Peña Dávila, Juan José Velille Torres and Rossana Morays Vellásquez of the accusation.
