Former priest must serve 5 years in prison for libidinous acts

Former priest Luis Ruiz Quiroga, who was convicted of committing “libidinous acts” against a minor under 17 years of age, must serve his sentence in prison after the Second Section of Crimes Against Liberty and Sexual Integrity of the Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office managed to get the Court of Appeals will revoke the precautionary measure of community work.

The sentence of 5 years in prison was issued against the former priest Luis Ruiz on July 5, for an incident that occurred against a minor under 17 years of age on June 26, in the parish of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, in Juan Díaz.

On July 7, the judge of guarantees of the Accusatory Penal System of the First Judicial Circuit of Panama, Meylín Jaén, supported her decision to grant community work to the former priest, alleging that he met the necessary requirements.
