Former police official delivers letter to the government where he denounces acts of corruption of Carabineros and the Navy in wood theft

The former captain of Carabineros Michael Toledo delivered this Tuesday a letter addressed to the President Gabriel Boric. In it he accuses acts of corruption of his former institution and the Navy in the Biobío and Araucanía regions, linked to the theft of wood.

“We have a history of the theft of wood and the whole cycle. I have had to do an investigation in a particular way as I did before, in order to demonstrate to the Carabineros, the Prosecutor’s Office and the government, what this system is like since the wood in the forest until it reaches the ships going to China,” he told a news outlet.

“There are personnel from Carabineros, both active and retired. There are personnel, the vast majority who are retired, they are personnel who were involved in Operation Hurricane,” Toledo added.

Also present at the delivery of the letter was the president of the Chile te Cuida union -also known as the military CUT-, of former Armed Forces, Carabineros and PDI, Nazario Zuniga.

Let us remember that in the provinces of Biobío and Arauco, in the Biobío region, and in the entire region of La Araucanía, the State of Exception is in force due to the acts of violence recorded in the area.
