During the day this past Tuesday, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for January -in other words, inflation- had an increase of 1.2%, and for 12 months it accumulates an increase of 7.7 percentage points.
Given this, the former Minister of Finance of the President, Sebastián Piñera, Ignacio Briones, referred to the historic figure criticizing the parliamentarians who supported the withdrawal of funds from the AFPs.

Through his Twitter account, he indicated that the increase in inflation is “very bad news”.
In addition, he explained with data from the Central Bank that the main causes are “3/4 for internal reasons and more than 50% for demand and consumption boom due to excess liquidity.”
Finally, he had words for those who supported the AFP fund withdrawal projects: “Flat earthers of withdrawals will continue to deny evidence but this is only 1 of their warned costs.”
