Santo Domingo.– Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry Two men linked to the seizure of 42 kilos of cocaine were arrested at the Paris-Charles de Gaulle International Airport in 2022.
These are former DNCD agent, Yohansy Quezada Mejía, and former CESAC member, Jorge Manuel Lebron Aquino, who were arrested by warrants number 973-2024-EMES-10892 and 973-2024-EMES-10892, respectively.
According to the investigation, both were on duty on November 8, 2022, in one of the X-ray machines at the Las Américas International Airport, when a Spanish citizen managed to leave the country with the stash placed in two suitcases.
Subsequently, foreigner Aurelio Coca Parra was arrested upon arriving at the French airport, immediately initiating an exhaustive investigation that allowed the arrest of former members of the security agencies stationed at the Las Américas terminal.
“The Public Ministry and the DNCD maintain an open investigation to determine if there are others involved in the case, to arrest them and bring them to justice.”
Meanwhile, the detainees, accused of international drug trafficking, were handed over to the Permanent Attention Jurisdiction of the Santo Domingo province for the corresponding purposes.
