Former member of CxL denounces “usurpation” of his name in the list of ALN candidates for municipal elections

Former member of the Ciudadanos por la Libertad (CxL) party Jackmer Jirón denounces that his name has been used in the list of candidates of the Alianza Liberal Nicaragüense (ALN) party for the municipal elections next November.

«My party was Citizens for Freedom, which no longer exists legally, so I stayed in CxL, the party ended and I did not continue in any other political party. Bold people or I don’t know if it was really the Council that took my name and put it on the ALN lists. I am not a candidate for any public political position of any political party », Jirón referred through his social networks where he made the complaint public.

«My name was unfortunately usurped because I have not given consent to go in any box. Therefore, I urge the authorities to please not to do this without the consent of the people, if it is not the Council and those responsible for the parties who have nothing more than a shit, then they should not including the civil population where the civil population does not want to know anything about these shitty parties”, he expressed.

The municipal votes are scheduled to take place on November 6. Currently the regime already controls 135 municipalities and every five years, the Supreme Electoral Council (CSE), assigns more communes throughout the country.

The Electoral Tribunal is accused of executing and directing an “electoral farce” where the Sandinista party is expected to gain absolute control of the country’s 153 mayoralties after eliminating any trace of opposition in 2021 with the cancellation of three political parties that would bring together to opposition groups.

According to official data, at least 4.4 million citizens will be able to participate in the municipal elections, out of a total of 6.5 million Nicaraguans. In the voting, 153 mayors, 153 deputy mayors, and more than 6,000 councilors from all the country’s municipalities will be “elected.”

Currently the preliminary list has reflected names of citizens who are in exile or who are opponents who did not authorize being included as candidates of political organizations and comply with the presentation of the total of more than 12 thousand names required in the so-called “electoral farce” .
